a. Information You Provide (Not Collected by Us)
- Subscription Data: When you add a subscription, you may input details such as the subscription name, price, billing cycle (weekly, monthly, or yearly), due date, category, and color. This data is stored locally on your device and, if you enable iCloud sync, in your private iCloud account. We do not collect or have access to this data.
- User Preferences: Preferences such as your user ID (a unique identifier generated by the App) and login status are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults. We do not collect or have access to this information.
b. Automatically Collected Information
- Device Information: We may collect limited device information, such as the device type, operating system version (e.g., iOS), and unique device identifiers, to ensure compatibility and improve the App’s performance.
- Usage Data: We may collect anonymized usage data, such as how often you use the App, which features you interact with (e.g., adding a subscription, viewing monthly expenses), and crash reports, to improve the App’s functionality and user experience. This data does not identify you personally.
c. iCloud Data (Managed by Apple)
If you enable iCloud sync, your subscription data is stored in your private iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit service. We do not collect or have access to this data; it is managed by Apple and stored securely in your iCloud account, accessible only to you.
d. Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect any personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, payment details (e.g., credit card numbers), or other sensitive data.
- We do not collect location data, contacts, photos, or any other data not directly related to the App’s functionality.
2. How We Use Your Information
Since we do not collect subscription data or user preferences, the limited information we do collect (device and usage data) is used solely to:
- Provide Core Functionality: Device information ensures the App works correctly on your device (e.g., compatibility with your iOS version).
- Improve the App: Anonymized usage data and crash reports help us identify bugs, optimize performance, and enhance the user experience.
- Ensure Security: Device information may be used to detect and prevent unauthorized access or fraudulent activity.
3. How Your Information Is Stored and Protected
- Local Storage: Subscription data and user preferences (e.g., user ID, login status) are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults and local file storage. We do not collect or have access to this data, and it is not transmitted to our servers.
- iCloud Storage: If you enable iCloud sync, your subscription data is stored in your private iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit service. This data is encrypted both in transit and at rest by Apple, and we do not have access to it.
- Security Measures: We implement industry-standard security practices to protect the limited data we collect (e.g., device information, usage data), including encryption for data in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
- Data Retention: We do not retain your subscription data or user preferences. Any data stored locally on your device is removed when you delete a subscription or uninstall the App. iCloud data is managed by Apple and can be deleted by you through your iCloud settings.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not collect, store, or share your subscription data or user preferences. The limited information we collect (device and usage data) may be shared only in the following circumstances:
- With Apple (iCloud): If you enable iCloud sync, your subscription data is stored in your private iCloud account, managed by Apple. Apple’s privacy practices apply to this data, and we do not have access to it.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose device or usage data if required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users.
- Service Providers: We may share anonymized, aggregated usage data with service providers (e.g., crash reporting tools) to improve the App. These providers are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and are not permitted to use the data for any other purpose.
5. Third-Party Services
- iCloud (CloudKit): SubsPay uses Apple’s CloudKit for iCloud sync. Data stored in iCloud is subject to Apple’s privacy policy (available at apple.com/legal/privacy). We do not control Apple’s data practices and recommend reviewing their policy.
- No Third-Party Analytics or Ads: SubsPay does not use third-party analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) or display ads, so your data is not shared with such services.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- iCloud Sync: You can enable or disable iCloud sync at any time. If you disable iCloud sync, your subscription data will remain on your device and will not be synced to iCloud.
- Data Deletion: You can delete your subscription data at any time by removing subscriptions within the App or uninstalling the App. To delete iCloud data, you can manage your iCloud storage through your device’s settings.
- Access and Correction: You can view and edit your subscription data directly in the App. Since we do not collect this data, there is no account to access or modify on our servers.
- GDPR and CCPA Rights: If you are a resident of the European Union (under GDPR) or California (under CCPA), you have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. Since SubsPay does not collect your subscription data or user preferences, and all data is stored locally on your device or in your private iCloud account, you can exercise these rights by managing your data directly in the App or through your iCloud settings. 7. Children’s Privacy
SubsPay is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.
8. International Data Transfers
Since SubsPay does not collect your subscription data or user preferences, no such data is transferred to our servers. The limited device and usage data we collect may be processed on servers located outside your country, but this data is anonymized and does not identify you personally. If you use iCloud sync, your data may be stored on Apple’s servers, which may be located outside your country. Apple complies with international data transfer regulations, and we recommend reviewing Apple’s privacy policy for more information.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy in the App or on our website (if applicable). The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy will be revised accordingly. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
